You being to wonder where did the "uniform" for these women begin - who declared this was to be the way the women dressed and then declared that it was never to be updated or revised in anyway. The puffed sleeves, the collars...it's like a painful look back at 8th grade when girls paraded into Laura Ashley for their graduation dresses (minus all the flower patterns). I remember my mom hemmed mine and then regretted it and wished it were ankle length again and i could not put into words how happy i was to have LEGS showing!!
