Obsessed with the tiny size and clean lines of this little cross body bag from Sud De Sur. I prefer less fuss when it comes to purses and this is perfect to throw on for a bike ride to the local sushi restaurant. I won't be able to afford any of the sushi because I would have spent it all on this tiny purse...but I sure would feel cute.
Monday
Summer Inspiration
An old trailer for a women's surf film by Tiffany Campbell...makes me want to get in the water. Always nice to see surf flicks with woman that doesn't focus on their boobs.
Tuesday
My Wild Heart
Saw this today on Design*Sponge. A backstage video of a very young Stevie Nicks practicing her song "Wild Heart". She looks soooo young and fresh and happy - and that voice that comes out of her, it's incredible. But mostly I just like how much fun it looks like she is having just singing with her back up girls...made me smile this morning.
Thursday
Thursday Inspiration
I have an unhealthy obsession with the way Rosie Huntington-Whiteley dresses - she has it down to a science. She has a way of putting together a look that is comfortable, simple, sexy and rock and roll. It's my dream way of dressing - skinny jeans (or leather, hello), basic tops, ankle boots, long messy hair, a beautiful bag and usually a bad ass jacket that is unique and interesting and pulls together the entire look. I would be lying through my teeth if I said I didn't think of her wardrobe when I get dressed in the morning...it's easy to get in a rut of BORING when you sit in front of a computer all day and wonder what's the point of trying to wear something cute and images like these remind me that it's easy to dress up simple pieces and still look edgy and pretty and beautiful.
Wednesday
Goodbye Nora Ephron
Nora Ephron will be greatly missed. She captured men and woman at their most honest and real and managed to translate all the little habits and idiosyncrasies of both sexes so perfectly and with such wit and humor. The bar was set high for romantic comedies and I think you'd be hard pressed to find ANYONE who has done it better than she.
Love for the Neon
Got some neon fun at Madewell the other day...I LOVE the store but the price points are a little high for me to shop there on a regular basis. Although the boots I got there have been worth every penny and THEN some, I wear them almost every day. I have had my eye on this canvas bag with the hot pink handles for some time and then luckily it happened to be on sale the night I walked in. There was also a fun bowl of neon coated little metal rings which I have been wearing mixed in with my wedding rings. I love the pop of neon green/yellow and it's fun to change it up every now and again.

My Better Half
Amanda Jones (does ANYONE else immediately think of Some Kind of Wonderful when you see that name???) started a feature called My Better Half on her blog that I immediately became obsessed with. One of my biggest addictions is asking people how they met, I am 100% obsessed with the stories about how couples first connected and how they knew (or didn't at the time) that this was something special. It reveals so much about people and it's just amazing to me how some people just can't HELP but be drawn to the other and my favorites are the stories where they kept showing up in each others lives for whatever reasons by the most random of circumstances and it's like the universe was SERIOUSLY trying to get a message across. But really I like ALL the stories, because no two are alike and I would love to interview hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people and write a book because I could spend all day listening to the different ways our lives collide.
"I loved the way Nikaela read her books. She reads physically—creasing the spines, folding corners, underlining. In between the pages are ticket stubs and leaves and the odd smear of strawberry jam."
"When he asked me on a first date a couple months later, I marched around my living room to a lively John Phillip Sousa march in celebration. The next day he made me crepes and I married him 18 months later."
"When I walked in through the door of the cafe, all I could see was Elise, across the room, standing on a chair. Whatever happened beyond that night, to me now is a blur. She's all I can remember."
"We met the next day at church, and my family gave him a ride to his hitchhiking companions. We said a quick goodbye, and that night, I wrote in my journal about the mysterious hitchhiker I'd met."
Thursday
Seriously. Someone Lives Here.
This house is crazzzzy. Crazy amazing. Crazy amazing I want to move to Australia right this minute and bunk up with this family! The home belongs to Sass & Bide designer Heidi Middleton and her family and is located in Palm Beach, north of Sydney. It's such a dreamy indoors outdoors sort of spot, the light and airy type of dwelling that would make you feel like you were on a permanent vacation. The kitchen and the bathroom alone have me drooling. See more pictures and read about the place at Terms of Endearment.
Wednesday
By The Book
The New York Times Book Review now has a column called "By The Book" where different writers/creative folk/interesting people share what is currently on their reading list and answer all sorts of questions regarding their reading habits and tastes. Right now the spotlight is on Lena Dunham who is the genius behind the HBO series "Girls" (which I am seriously obsessed with and highly recommend).
"What was the last truly great book you read? Do you remember the
last time you said to someone, “You absolutely must read this book”?
I am obsessed with “The Private Diaries of Catherine Deneuve,” in which
we learn intimate details about working with titans of the French New
Wave and she talks smack about Bjork. Her prose is elegant and defiant and very, very French."
Tuesday
Handmade Leather Tags
Loving these handmade leather tags by etsy seller Of The Fountain. They definitely lean towards a more masculine look but would be such a cool way to personalize your luggage or to hang off a purse or even frame as a wedding gift.
Monday
New Zara Jackets
LOVE this new patterned jacket available at Zara now...reminds me a liiiiiiiiiittle bit of the Isabel Marant jackets I am still obsessed with. A simple shape and subtle coloring that makes it versatile but with a beautiful funky pattern to make it a statement piece. On the list of things I need to go see in person at the store...also loving those two leather jackets with the studs...badass but with a nice tailored feel.
Friday
Sexy And I Know It
So this kid who just graduated from high school has been singing covers of all kinds of songs and posting them to you tube...the first one I saw was the "Sexy and I Know It" song by LMFAO. I have included the original song so you can see for yourself HOW AMAZING this kid really is. His voice tranforms him...I didn't even think it was really his voice at first because it sounded so mature and confident and...dare I say it...sexy.

Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton
Someone Like You by Adele
I could listen to him all day...

Hot Pink Ikat
Saw these pink skinny jeans on Song of Style this morning and fell in love. They demand attention without being crazy obnoxious and are just the pair of pants to announce that the warm weather is here for good! If they didn't cost $179.00 I would have bought them the minute I saw them...sigh.
Thursday
Falcon Wright
Sure wish they would restock some of these lovely ladies because I have crushes on several of these simple leather pouches by Falcon Wright. I love the hand painted geometric designs and am dying to have a little pouch and a coin purse to throw in my bag!
Monday
The Vamoose
I can always count on The Vamoose to have interesting beautiful jewelry...love the soft pastels with gold and the delicate dark strands of beads and the juxtaposition of materials like brass, rope and crystal - that last bracelet is a ladylike grown up version of the old nautical friendship bracelet that I wore nonstop when I was in 6th grade.

Anthro Inspiration
I was in a frenzy this week to buy a dress for an afternoon wedding in Carmel this weekend and since my time was EXTREMELY limited I ran into Anthropologie knowing taht while I might not find a funky EDGY dress like I had in mind, I would DEFINITELY find something beautiful and breezy and fun. Turns out I found ALOT...I bought these two dresses with the idea that one is going to have to go back (sigh)...both look amazing with my worn in suede ankle boots and a messy ponytail. I bought the fun little headband to add a certain sense of fun and sparkle and along the way stumbled into the most perfect lacy tank top in lounge section (only the t-shirt shows online for some reason). It's honestly one of the most perfect tops I have bought in a long time and I wish it came in other colors, I would have snapped them all up. There was also this amazing smelling candle burning in the store - light and clean with a hint of summer vacation - dreamy. Given that I had worn my other go to dress to the engagement party already - I was very grateful to have walked into this store! Plus the decorations they have right now were incredibly inspiring and I want to throw a party just to be able to make them!
Caine's Arcade
Take a few moments and watch this amazingly sweet video about Caine and his cardboard arcade. This is the kind of creativity that can exist when you don't let your kid sit in front of a tv playing video games...
Tuesday
Stella McCartney
Great big article in NY Times Magazine about Stella McCartney...I love getting a glimpse into designers (of fashion or of anything!) worlds and learning more about what makes them who they are and how they see the world. It's also a glimpse into the world she grew up in...I love the story of her mom and her hot pink mini cooper.

Tuesday
Mean
Just remembered about this performance from the Grammys by Taylor Swift. Doesn't matter if you are a fan of hers or not, this is a fun video to watch, it feels like it really comes from the heart and it makes me smile when she performs the last couple of lines. I don't listen to much of her music but I loved this part of the show.
Wednesday
Twig Terrariums
Terrariums became all the rage in the last couple years and NY based friends Michelle and Katy of Twig Terrariums just took them to a whole new level. I appreciate anyone who approaches life with a sense of humor and that's exactly what you see here...they create moss terrariums inside antique,
vintage, and new glass containers, apothecary jars, science glass,
kitchenware, and any other kind of unusual bins. The containers house tiny little scenes using itty bitty miniatures and the worlds they create are both sweet and kind of bizarro - from dinosaurs escaping, to muggings to brides and grooms to mob hits to graffiti artists getting caught to campers...it's all a little weird (see what i did there...) in the best way possible.
Tuesday
Sorenne and Matt
This is one of the coolest and unique weddings I have seen...my friend Sorenne and her new husband Matt recently got hitched in Austin, Texas and I can't stop looking at the pictures that were recently featured in Martha Stewart's Real Wedding's. It's a lot of the things I love about parties all in one (natural elements, touching personal details, amazing typography and artwork, a peaceful setting, pretty ankle boots and beautiful outfits) and it makes me want to get married all over again just to plan the party and use this as inspiration! See more photos and descriptions here.
Monday
Messy Bun Styles
Messy buns make me happy and I know am not alone in my obsession, so here is another collection of random assorted messy hair for your viewing pleasure.
