Sweater Vest

The words sweater and vest together make me cringe (as does the Gap after having worked there in high school) but this little gray number that was hiding in the back of the local Gap was quite the stunner piece. I plucked it off the hanger not really having any expectations of its style but when i put it on it was the perfect sweater-but-not-a-sweater, warm but light enough for summer nights to show off the lingering tan. The one drawback was the texture, it doesn't feel tremendously soft or inviting but it doesn't itch and its the perfect piece to layer over a white tank and jeans for a breezy august evening.
