Swahili African Modern

Spied this fun yellow and cream basket in this months InStyle and immediately pictured it brightening up my bathroom (which if you could see it desperately needs it). Handwoven from millet and recycled plastic by women in Senegal. Read more about the women and the artisans connected with Swahili here. I have seen this basket up close and in person in American Rag's home store (SUCH a dangerous place) and can tell you they are just as interesting and well made in person. This definitely goes on my list of wants for the homestead.
