Duck Boots

If you are from the midwest, you might recognize these shoes, if you grew up in the midwest in the 80s you will DEFINITELY recognize these shoes...they were a winter staple in suburbs outside of Chicago. But the way you wore them was veeeery important. As important as only wearing your backpack on one shoulder as opposed to the more ergonomic two shouldered method and certainly as important as how you tied the laces on your sebagos (had to do that tricky curl thing). These shoes you had to wear loose like you were too cool to be bothered with actually tightening them all the way (not so good for keeping out snow or rain) and your pegged jeans had to rest on the top with juuuuust the right amount of slouch. i really wonder WHERE do any of these small but crucial details of your eighth grade existence come from? who starts them?
